Photos and pressies!

We had a fantastic ski assembly this morning and everyone really enjoyed seeing more of the photos from last week. From Monday, there will be one photo CD per class to take home for one night to copy the photos onto your own computer.

Or, if you'd like your own photo CD to keep, leave a comment below and Mrs Bell will make you your own copy! Each CD will cost just £2 with all profits going to school funds. There are over 200 photos on the CD and it will be a lovely final souvenir from our trip.

The teachers got a lovely surprise this morning when we each received a lovely card plus a giftcard and chocolates. Many thanks to all who contributed - your generosity is much appreciated!

Home sweet home!

There were a few tears shed at Aldergrove this evening as our 27 super skiers were finally reunited with parents who seemed to have missed them over the last week!

Well done to all the P7s on the trip - you did yourselves and Brooklands proud! The teachers hope that you'll always remember this week as a great opportunity to try something completely different. Don't forget, many primary schools no longer offer any residential trips but at Brooklands every child has the opportunity to experience three different residentials. It's just one of the things that we do best so tell your friends!

Thanks must go to Radka, Steff, Yanko and George - our fantastic ski instructors! We hope you're reading this! Thanks also to Roberto, Stella, Tony, Brian, Peter and all our friends at Travel Solutions who look after us so well every year!

We hope that you've enjoyed looking at the photos we've posted this week. Over the next few days, Mrs Bell will put together a CD of all the photos taken while we were away - more details to follow!

Day 6 - it's all over!

We're all safely back at the hotel after another amazing day on the slopes! Everyone was on their very best behaviour as we knew that the instructors were watching us extra-carefully. You'll be delighted to learn that everyone passed their ski exam and is now a qualified skier! Tonight we'll find out what grades we've been awarded when we see our instructors at the presentation night. Last night we bought lots of pressies - hope you all like bells!
We'll not be posting any updates tomorrow as we'll be travelling so please check the expected arrival time of flight LS2182 from Plovdiv.  We'll see you all at Aldergrove and expect to hear a huge Brookies cheer when you see us!

We love your comments so don't give up now!

Day 5 - we're having so much fun!

Another amazing day on the slopes for Team Brookies! Our instructors didn't want to waste a second of our skiing lessons as the conditions were so perfect so no ski exam. Instead, they'll watch us really carefully tomorrow to decide if we've done enough to pass our beginners' exam. Judging by today's fantastic skiing, that shouldn't be a problem!

It's Katie's birthday today so she enjoyed some cake at lunchtime while the whole restaurant sang Happy Birthday to her!

Last night's bum boarding was fantastic fun with all the children screaming loudly as they zoomed down the slope! And it was Mrs Bell who took the honours in the P7 teachers' race but by the smallest of margins! Tonight we're off shopping for pressies - any requests?!

Thanks for all your comments - keep them coming!

Day 4 - we've mastered the green run!

It's another gorgeous day here in Pamporovo and we're all safely back at the hotel after a great day's skiing! There was no need to visit the nursery slopes today so we spent every moment skiing down the green run before getting back on the chairlift to do it all over again! We're continuing to make great progress which is good news as tomorrow is our ski exam - wish us luck!

Tonight we're looking forward to the bum boarding, always a highlight of the week.  Mrs Bell reckons she'll beat Mr Massey and Mr Coetzee in the teachers' race...

Did you spot us on the webcams? We're two hours ahead so try looking between 8am and 1pm. And don't forget to write a comment - no need to be shy!

Day 3 - up to the top of the mountain!

This morning we awoke to the most beautiful sunrise and our day just kept getting better and better! Yesterday's light snow had created the most perfect conditions on the slopes so we were delighted but a little nervous when our instructors told us that we were heading straight up to the top! That of course meant that we had to get onto the chairlifts - no problem! Everyone enjoyed the 15min ride to the top where we spent the morning on the nursery slopes and then after lunch we all managed to ski safely all the way back down to the very bottom! The teachers are very proud of all the children and we know that you are too. Tomorrow, why don't you keep an eye on the Web cams to see if you can spot us?!

We had a great time at the disco last night and the boys were just as keen as the girls! We'll announce the names of our disco king and queen next Friday in assembly but we were spoiled for choice. Tonight it's a quiz followed by an early night as we need to save our energy for tomorrow's skiing.

We love all your comments so leave us another one please!

Day 2 - we can turn!

What an amazing day we've just had! Today we were concentrating on the second most important lesson - how to turn! It didn't take long for everyone to master the basics and we were soon weaving in and out of the poles. No injuries to report! The instructors are delighted with our progress and, if the conditions are right tomorrow, they plan to take all the groups to the nursery slopes right at the top of the mountain. Fingers crossed! Last night we enjoyed the ten-pin bowling - the name of the overall winner is a closely-guarded secret but can you guess? Tonight we're off to the disco, a chance for the teachers to learn some new moves! Which of the children will be crowned king and queen of the dance floor? Don't forget to leave us a comment!
